HPM-60s a good deal?

Lambo

Gettin' by on gettin' by
I have a chance to get a pair of HPM 60s for $95.
I haven't seen 'em yet, but they're claimed to be in real nice shape.
I understand the bass will be a bit less than with an HPM-100.
Are they worth the $95 if very clean?
I haven't had much luck in finding HPM-100s in good shape here in Austin.

Whether I need them not is for me to decide.
I already have a pair of Advent/1s, two pairs of walnut LAs,
a pair of Dynaco A25s, a pair of walnut Minimus 7s, a pair of Minimus 25s,
a pair of Marantz DS 920s, and a pair of Definitive Tech BP2004s.
I suppose I could claim they're for my brother ;-)

If you can't find good 100s at any price, buy what you can. You're gonna get what you paid for and more anyway. You know where to find them otherwise (Pioneer fans back me up here)

IN THE AK CLASSIFIEDS (If Bolly ever gets tired of them) :D

Thanks asynchrous!

I think I'm not gonna rush over there today.
If brown13 or 80sjunior or any other Austin AKers get 'em, cool.
If not, I may pick em up early next week.

Lambo, a good friend of mine bought his HPM-60's new, in '78, along with his 7070. Both are still kicking today, with nothing more serious than some DeOxit for the Sansui. This system gets daily use, several hours per. Gets loud enough, and low enough to have his wife yelling down the stairs. :D

Maybe not a 'reference' setup, but a pretty good 'daily driver', for 27 years.
