After 2 weeks of having my right ear plugged, I went to an ear, nose and throat specialist. Within 45 minutes I can hear perfectly ( for a 65-year old) again!!! Man, I'm catching up on lost time. I'll probably have a small hangover (white wine & weed) but I DON'T CARE!!!

I CAN HEAR AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a similar thing with my left ear...it made anything with substantial bass difficult to listen to for about two years...thankfully it sort of went away...needless to say I was pretty focused on detail for while.

Feels great, doesn't it?! One quick nugget of advice: make sure to moderate usage of your volume control. Enjoy your fermented grapes and Mary Jane, but be sure to check the impulse to amp the volume. The last thing you want to do is to make a turn-around trip right back to the E.N.T.'s office.

My SO occasionally gets a plugged ear, a warm water lavage and flush with a Sherwood Monoject 412 syringe clears things nicely.
I can also do my own ears but rarely necessary except for the occasional insect intruder, my hearing loss is long term and permanent.

My sinuses keep the ears sort of clogged year round. But the real culprit is all the hair rustling around in my ears. Just like I pluck the hairs in my poodle's ears, I regularly pluck mine.

When I was a teenager I had an earwax "incident". I went to the emergency room and the EMT knew a way to safely clean my ears without sticking metal things in my ears. He used water, heated to about 130 degrees and used a BIG syringe to waft it in my ears. The heated water melted the wax entirely and into those little kidney shaped pans.

How I do it, except I may use a towel instead of a basin. The Monoject 412 is a purpose designed irrigation syringe we used in dental practice. Hard to believe I have a pair of these one time use syringes still perfectly serviceable after ca 40 years.

I had some hot weld go in my ear some few years back.
Have had a struggle with the treble in that ear since then , but its not so noticeable now !! Congrats on getting the use of the one sense that really counts in this game - back again !!!

You forgot to mention what was done to correct the problem.
