    I just got a Sansui TU-D99X for $40 and a Mitsubishi DA-F30 for $59.

I am done buying more tuners, my wife is going to kill me, does anyone have any experience with those tuners ?

Sansui looks like a pretty hot performer.

I have two d99x . I have had a lot of tuners but have kept this one for dx reception . I have one wth narrow filters but even stock they are very good in the narrow setting. Limiter station memory is the downside. It out performed a modified Carver.

Pable I have changed the ceramic filters in quite few tuners. There is plenty of information on Google. Do a read up on it.
Be sure you know what you are doing. You must start with a good working tuner and one that has a switch for wide and narrow.
The mod will increase selectivity. You can ruin the sound if you get carried away with it. The stock D99X is one of the best stock tuners.
I think the AM is stereo ??WOW

The only thing wives care about is if you sell them for more money than you paid for them. From a women’s perspective, why would anyone put money into anything that just sits around the house.

Ehh, ymmv... mine is perfectly willing to ignore the fact that I do typically sell things for more than I paid for them, to the extent that 1) the house still overflows with gear, and 2) that money isn't placed directly in her hot little hands.

    Just saying.
