In the market for a new DVD player

I've been out of this for a while. Anyone done any research on what the "hot" DVD player is now? What should I be looking for: progressive scan, digital out, optical out, componant video (RGB) out? Let's keep this below $300/400 if possible.

I saw that thread, but I'm looking for a step up with digital out and/or component video. Maybe a Denon or Pioneer Elite, etc... from there the higher end models get to be stupid money.

I assumed they had both digital out and componant video. My 49.99 Magnavox has progressive scan, digital out and componant video.
