Infinity Qe dust cap

About 2 months ago I got some Qe s for almost nothing in super good shape -- this of course led to getting a set of Qb s. Anyway...

I noticed right away on the Qe s the dust caps on the woofers have been replaced. They appear to be fibrous, and I guess vented? As the system is designed to be sealed, I was thinking of just sealing over the dust cap with something. What should I use, something hard or something soft? Epoxy paint, Elmers glue, silicone? Is this a big enough thing to attempt to correct? Am I going to hear a difference or just enjoy them the way they are ?

Currently being used with a sub.

If you press in on the woofer, does it spring back immediately or does it take a while? If the former, then yes, you should fix it. I'd just look into getting new dustcaps, the composition isn't critical. Just carefully cut off the old ones and replace with whatever you get.

Hum. Nice check method, didnt think of that. There is some resistance.. I think I'm going to let them be for now. Thanks!
