Infinity RS6000 cab repair

Cab is 3/4” thick and has artificial veneer, but not vinyl. What is the best way to repair this hole?
I was thinking bondoing to start out with, but what about material on top of bondo?

Anyway, how you fix the hole depends on how you fix the finish, or don;t you care about that?

This veneer is a hard material that also breaks and snaps off cleanly as shown. I carefully examined it as well. I’m not aware of any vinyl to be like this. Typically, vinyl flexes and peels, and tares. This stuff is hard and crunchy. Reminds me of Formica.

Or, could it be old aged vinyl that is now no longer behaves like new vinyl?
