So I have volume pot from Marantz 2235 that I want to install into 2270.
In parts lists they are listed as same part RM0254021 250KOhmAX2
The pots are cosmetically different, just slightly.
The original in 2270 has a symbol 34C
the one from 2235 has 64C
At first it was obvious to me that I would install the 2235 pot into 2270 amp exactly as the original pot is installed, connecting cables to same points at the new pot.
But now I have doubts.
I received the 2235 pot with wires attached to it. same colors as in 2270, but they where attached to different points on the pot, in kind of reversed way, e.g. where red wire goes in the 2270 pot, I had white wire attached in 2235 pot, where white wire goes in 2270 pot, in 2235 had red wire (See the pic below of original 2270 pot, in 2235 the coloring was reversed).
Do you think the 2 volume pots, from 2235 and 2270 are exactly the same or is something reversed inside so that wires go to different points?
Something must be inconsistent between Marantz 2235 and 2270, either insides of the pots are reversed (which I doubt) or the coloring of wires is (more probable to me).
