Internal packaging damaged, but not external?

This very picture lets me assume this package was tied somehow, maybe sitting at the end of a bundle of the same items? You know, this sharp woven flat plastic packaging "rope".

Myself I would take my chances and just open up, but thats is just me...

Thanks, you apparently saw the original post before the big edit.

And, yes, that is sort of what the damage looks like ... perhaps from bundling as you say.

Opened it; physically the contents appear fine. Haven't tried using it yet though. It's a WiFi router, in case of curiosity.
