Looking for info on DACs. I've never owned one. My system consists of a Pioneer SX-850 and a pair of Elac UF5's. I mostly stream music via Spotify Premium and Pandora via a dedicated iPhone 4S. I think the system sounds great but I've only had the speakers a month.
I have an old NEC CD-530 cd player (only analog outputs) that works great and a modern Samsung BluRay player (BD-5500).
I'm thinking about trying a DAC for the iPhone and the BluRay player to hear if there is a difference. Not looking to spend more than $250. Wondering if anyone has compared the iPhone's DAC with a standalone. I don't use headphones with this system. Thanks.
