Is 100mW enough?

    Just a quick question. Is 100mW enough to drive 600 ohm headphones? I'm not talking ear bleading volumes. But enough to drive them at a decent listening level.

    It will drive them but they will not sound their best. IMO I'd shoot for something in the 1/2 watt range or higher.

    With Hi-Z phones, it's less about total power and more about the output voltage swing of your headphone amp. I'm a big fan of Hi-Z phones. My opinion is that they offer some of the best dynamics when driven by an amp with wide rails. But, that's just my opinion.
