I may have use for it for dvds and Blu Ray from time to time -- but primarily see it used for audio CDs. Seems like a real value for a highly regarded unit.
If being used as a transport, you could try the Sony UBP-X800. It's a do-everything player, that supports any disc format, that's a transport. It's often on sale, much cheaper. Especially, around the holidays.
Then you'd be using the 6700's DAC chipset to decode the digital signal. You could also try the analog output (balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA) of the Oppo to the analog (balanced XLR or unbalanced RCA) input of the 6700. That way you could compare the two chipsets and see which one you prefer.
As far as using the Oppo as a transport for CD's, plus having the DVD & BluRay playback capability all in one box, it's a good way to go. It's how I use my Oppo as well.
The 203 doesn't have XLR outs, just RCA. Like Yamaki says, you can connect the Oppo up both via digital and via RCA and then switch between the inputs on the 6700 to see which you prefer - the DAC in the Oppo or the DAC in the Mac.
I find the 203 to be a good value. But if you are wanting a new one, you'd better buy soon as Oppo is getting out of the gear business. Dropping all products.

Made the purchase from Crutchfield -- may have gotten the last one or nearly the last one as it is listed as "no longer available" on the site. I need a week or so to put it through its paces.
