My speakers give out a small thump when I power on my Ma7900. Not loud, but it's there. I know this is normal in my old Marantz 2230 because it is capacitor coupled. Is it normal for the modern Mac?

My MC2205 amp will thump on power up. Nothing drastic, just there.

I own an MA7000 integrated and it definitely has a muting relay. No thump whatsoever.
I had a C48 / MC202 combo that made no sound at all that I could hear from the speakers when powered up. Now I have an MA7000 and it doesn't make a thump but it does make a sort of click sound from the speakers when powered on. The sound is rather like having a microphone next to the power button and the actual mechanical sound of pressing the button is amplified through the speakers. Weird and a little concerning.

i have hadso many marantzes, some in awful shape, some popped an were scary, but yes..they and others make a thump when powering on,i dont like that as im a wound up energetic person an have smelled old marantz receivers etc as they had issues..
