last Wednesday i went on a breakdown to fix an electrical fault on an sbat 6 wheel drive truck . that was easily done .
trouble started when we decided to drive a few miles for something to eat .whilst i was waiting for the truck to turn round my cut cut out then wouldn't start .we pushed it around the corner then went for something to eat .came back to car and looked at the engine only to discover the injector pump belt had broken so it had to be a tow .luckily the owner of the truck had breakdown cover . we were 150 miles from home . 4 hours wait and eventually got towed to a compound and given a loan car . my car turned up this morning at 10am . i had it running again at 1pm .phew ..
there are 2 timing belts and the lucky part was the cam belt somehow survived . it was the cam belt tensioner that had broken up . here is a picture .
