One day in the 1970s, a woman along our street, was walking her new Irish wolfhound past our front fence. Our little west highland (terrier-ist) terrier, ran at the big dog and barked furiously, giving the poor huge pooch a sudden fright. The big dog was terrified and dragged the lady across the road which was mostly quiet, thank goodness. From then on, the big dog would take the lady across the road well before it got near our fence and wouldn’t go back over until there was a direct line across and straight into its own front gate. Funny thing is, our Cindy was the most gentle and affectionate dog.
