This morning, as I went out to feed my feather babies, I noticed the water bowl was frozen. I went in and got an awl to stab the surface with. A black bird stood very close and made me laugh when he looked at the bowl then at me. I expected him to back off as I stabbed away at the ice. He looked as though I was his daddy. He was so trusting for a wild bird. He's made me love him and his buddies even more. Funny the unexpected little things that warm your heart.
