JBL Hartsfield photos from recent auction

Very cool. One thing about really old JBLs (pre-60s perhaps?) that I find interesting for some reason, is that the cabinet-makers didn't worry about the back panel's appearance; they're typically just raw plywood, and you can see signs of cutting guided by hand. The later models, starting I guess in the 60s, have nicely finished and painted back panels, and very few signs of hand-cutting.

I had a chance to buy a pair, but did not like the sound. This was before the 43xx addiction.

Lets see I would add a super tweeter, the latest ring radiator I could find with A JBL crossover, and then get the woofers reconed to the latest model, and bi amp using a good electronic crossover.. All you would need is a 4 channel 50 watt amp. How about a Mac 7104, or a 7106, a 126, or even a 206 if you wanted to blow the house down. if you wanted to tri-amp

So beautiful, yet so crude! I'll take two please after I win the lottery!

These look nice, yes. They kind of resemble the Klipschorns in a way. The only problem is, I can’t tolerate honky, two-way Horn designs.
