The barracks that I lived in at NAS Glenview, about an hour south of there, were "temporary", thrown together during WW II to house trainees for a few weeks. 50 years later I occupied one. I don't think there was a single thing changed. The giant steam pipes ran right through the room, just like a submarine. I had the windows wide open in January.
