just d/l SPL meter

So like the title says I just d/l an app for a SPL and DB readings meter. I'm only on the db section now and my TF 350s w/ the volume I have are topping out at 89db. If and when I get to the SPL side of the meter what should I look for and why is it needed for home use or just something to play w/ if not an audio specialist.

I have a handheld Radio Shack digital SPL. It's used to adjust the speaker output equally for all channels with an older surround system.

If you haven't got to the SPL side of the meter, where did you get the 89dB figure?
