The demodulator was used to convert the signals from a CD4 phono cart from the L&R RCA jacks from the TT to 4 channel output. The output from the demodulator could be then processed by a 4 channel receiver (amp or pre-amp)

But I agree with Manitoulin, he definately should have sold them separately.
