Kappa 8 extended v normal switch opinions?

What experiences have people had with the extended v normal switch on the kappa 8?

In normal setting the woofer signal has to go through a 5 Ohm resistor so your amp sees a higher impedance. In extended setting this resistor is by-passed. See attached pdf's showing the impedance measurement of just the woofer (not the mids and tweeters) with the switch in normal vs extended.

My experience is that depending on your specific circumstances like the amp you have, the size of the listening room, the type of music you listen to, you may prefer the normal setting. You have to experiment and see what sounds best to you.

At first when I had cheaper amps hooked up I didn't hear much of a difference, but after I bought monoblocks its deffinately noticeable. I tend to like my music a little more bass heavy so I leave it on extended. The normal switch is mostly to give your amp a break because at 40hz the impedance drops to 1.8 ohms (if I remember right).
