Keeping a CD in the CD player?

The downside is opening a jewel case and finding the CD missing. After a frantic search, you find it in a sidelined CDP. Been there. Done that.

Me too, often. I have two currently MIA. Too many CD players...

Possibly relevant: apparentlyXbox 360s eventually develop a problem with the tray not reliably ejecting, but if you keep a disc in them, they tend to remain usable. I have a 360 I bought for $12 secondhand with that exact condition.

Probably uses a magnetic disc clamp like my old Samsung BDP mentioned above. Not sure how to reliably fix.

Also helps if you've got "sticky drawer syndrome". Push the button, it cycles, but doesn't open? Come to find out, it's the hub lock that's sticking. I found out that keeping a blank DVDr in the drive when I'm not using it stops that. WindoHs! won't try to load a blank when I fire up the HTPC, and I haven't had a drawer stick since.

PS - I do the same thing with my Oppo deck.

I thought I was the only one that did this . lol
