Kef 104/2

I have the opportunity to buy a pair of Kef 104/2 along with an Adcom 555 amp, preamp and tuner for $500. The little bit of research I have done says the speakers are a PITA to restore and is expensive. Are they worth it at this price and the cost if they need the cross-overs, woofer and tweeters redone? Sorry this was supposed to go in the Speakers forum

considering the adcom alone goes for that price, that's a really good deal.

Whether or not those speakers are worth restoring, how comfortable are you with a soldering iron? Kef has a habit of using solder for terminals, so you can't even remove a woofer without desoldering.

No brainer. About the same deal I got for my 104/2's sold the Adcom gear and get %70 of my initial investment back. You do thee same and you will pay for the speakers by selling the Adcom stuff.
