Good morning everybody

I have just inherited an early 80s Luxman HIFI equipment

Attached to this gear, there is a pair of KEF reference 103.2 in very good condition, in the main hall, and a pair of BOSE 301 series II, added by the owner some years after, in a contiguous room. These Bose have the woofer foam suspensions "disintegrated", but I learnt that these can be easily repaired. Since I will only need a pair of speakers for my living room.... which pair do you advise me to use? jazz and blues in mind, vinyls mainly.

Thanks

Oh, I have not see the low quality KEF. Now days, if you build speakers, you go for Scan Speak if you want high quality. Morel is okay as well.

I had a couple pair of KEF's for a short time. My cat ruined one pair and I sold the other when times were tough. I would say the KEF Reference Series was the top knotch. Pretty sure you've got a set of serious speakers there. The Bose are totally amateur hour in comparison.

i've had bose .... i think i still have some 101's around here that did surround duty
lots here luv to bash bose

but i do have kef 104 and 105 ..... those speakers wont be leaving here as long as i'm kickin

I agree! I've had Kef 104aB, 104/2, and still have 105s. The 105s aren't going anywhere. Never had 103.2s, but if they are like any others of that series, they should sound pretty amazing. The Bose are decent, but they can't compete with the Kef drivers. They are very easy to sell though. :)
