Working well, but there is a slight hum when the volume is turned up and no signal in. It's such a low sound that it easily gets drowned out by any music playing, but when theres a silent part you can hear sight hum.

OK, is that probably due to the big 15,000 uf filter caps starting to age? Other sources? What to check first?

Is this with the phono input selected? If so I wouldn't worry about it if only at high volumes, the stylus will pick up all kinds of ambient noise for your amp to ....ahem, amplify.

Also if the connections on the cartridge or arm etc are dirty that could cause pickup also.
That's not the only thing but one of the common probs.

Good Luck
John

How do you like your 8300? Been thinking about them.i can get one locally.
Sorry for the late, late response. Great amp. I also have a KA-7100 that's wonderful. I like the meters, the extra power and the three sets of speakers I can switch between on the 8300. Great amp. Period.
