My neighbor has an older Kenwood KR-7600 reciever. Just wondering if this this is considered a quality piece? Worth much?

It's in his garage and not being used. Appears to be fairly heavy.

    Thanks,
    Ron

Yeah, it is! A very nice 80 wpc receiver from around 1977-80.

The KR 7600 is the model right below the monster KR 9600 with rack handles. A very good performer and I would get this one if I could'nt get a 9600.

    KR 9600 output ICs?

I recently picked up the TOTL KR-9600 with a bad channel. Any hints on a source for the output packs?

That's one problem with KR 9600. The outputs are unobtanium like the SX-1980. I seen the outputs on eBay for $150 each and someone offered the SX 1980 were $200 each used. Another unit with one bad channel for parts might be the answer.

Just bought one with fully working outputs but the FM is bad. Any idea what went wrong?

    Kenwood KR-7600

Bought two 7600's and a 9400 a couple of weeks ago at the local thrift for $30.00 bucks each. These old Kenwoods kick ass! If you get the chance buy it.

Hey, things have changed in 7 years. Vintage Kenwoods are shifting from undervalued and overlooked to overvalued. I blame echowars :).

I would pay a lot, because those receivers look so fine! :)

I just love the combination of blue and orange lights! Fantastic!

I think the Kenwood KR-x600 line of receivers are just about the best looking receivers ever made. I bought my KR-4600 just for the looks alone. Turns out that it is also a fine receiver.

$100-$200 depending on condition would be my guess. odds are you're not getting one at the thrift for $30 anymore like in '05 but you never know.

The question was asked earlier in the thread, just reiterating it... I didn't check which section it was in. My bad.
