Kenwood KR-9400 receiver questions

Hi, new member here with a Kenwood KR-9400 receiver. One of the meter lights is out and I have the unit apart. The question is does the bulb holder pull out of the back of the plastic meter case or do I take the meter out of the plastic case to get to the bulb. There is a rubber base at the center of the back of the meter but it didn't want to pull out easily and I figured better to ask the question here from the experts instead of killing the meter. I'm normally a speaker guy so I need your help.

The panel it's mounted in is plastic and gets brittle with age so use caution and turn the mount slowly to loosen it,
the bulb and mount should come out easily. If it's too brittle the plastic crumbles. OR, the bulb is mounted in a rubbery mount and sits on a PC board. They should unplug. I found a 9400 thread.

Good luck.
I have a couple of KR9600's that the plastic is soht, but others are fine.
