Kenwood KR5150

KR 5150 - looks good, but both channels are weak and fuzzy. The tuner section seems to be OK. IIRC it was working when it went into the closet after a move, lo these many years ago.
Anyone have ideas on where to get more info/help/diagnostics on these?

TIA
Dave G.

My humble contribution:

Possible size alert :D
KA-8150: I set ip up as a secondary system in the living room, so the wife won't touch the main rig...:D. KT-6550 coming too.

AX-801: One day I'll get to use it...when the big plan will get underway:smoke: the plan is to get all my gear hooked up in my home office. Some day one day...:scratch2:

Kenwood KA 7010 Integrated Amp

A nice 100 WPC integrated amp from 1988. This was a military model available overseas. 2 big honkin transformers and 4 big caps.

Kenwood KR-9050. I'll be honest though, the audio path needs to be recapped. There is a tinge of distortion in it. It delivers full power equally through both channels though.

Some really nice gear in this thread! This is my bedroom system. KA-7X I got for cheap. Nice little 100wpc integrated with the "Sigma" drive thing. Had to cobble up the double speaker wires myself, the originals were long gone. I wanted to match it up with the KT-7X tuner, but it looked pretty uninspiring, so I got the KT-9XG instead. Nice little tuna. I'll have to make some channel labels some day.

Model Eleven II receiver. 80 Watts RMS per channel. The cabinet will soon get refinished. Yes, the onboard Dolby adapter still works.

UPDATE: I sold it to a happy buyer.

A little KR-2600 that I just finished cleaning for a couple of hours. My GF found him sitting on a garbage pile and brought him home :thmbsp: He's now sitting in the bedroom, playing with a pair of Canton from the 70's. Nice little combo for relaxed listening :music:

This is the KR 6030 I got this summer. Not a great picture, but it gives you an idea what it looks like.
I had the same model from 1981-1994,so I am glad I found a new one. I think this unit needs some work, as sometimes I have to jiggle to toggle switches to get both channels working properly. It might need a good cleaning, sounds like a project for a cold winter day. It does sound nice and getting this allowed me to give a Kenwood KR 5030 to my older sons girlfriend, along with a turntable, so she could spin vinyl.
