All this Kenwood equipment and its really nice to see it but what about the turntables?
Kenwood made some pretty good ones didnt thay?
It would be nice to see them and hear what owners have to say about them.
    Just a thought.

I have a Kenwood KD2055 that i love!. I also have a ''bolder'' Technics SL-1100AC. The Kenwood, i can almost install it on a loudspeaker, and it won't feedback so yeah, their claim of being '' The Rock'' back then is real.
It is a bottom of line but stone reliable. I modified it to be a fully manual one now.

KD550 and KD5070. Since this photo they have 'separated' and drive systems in 2 different rooms.

    Shortcomings....?

KD-4100 here. I've had it several years now, handles most every cartridge I've thrown at it with good results. The arm bearings seem to be quite good; I've tracked some carts as low as 3/4 gram! The "puck" on mine is from my long-departed HK T60. KD4100_1.JPG

I've this little one, but can't comment on the sound as I haven't had a chance to try it yet. Fit and finish is superb.

Sorry no pic but I run a Kenwood KD 5100 with a Shure v15 type 5-mr cart. Fully auto table. Good enough for the bedroom system.

TVK says they were available late '79 to '84. I've no idea what year mine is. From the changes in the model's evolution, mine isn't an early one, and it's not a late one.

Love my KD-5066. Had to upgrade the cables and clean her real good to get her back to spec. Fully auto and speed is dead on. Love the looks too. While it's not an elite model it's rock solid and not going anywhere soon. Would buy another if I had the opportunity.

KD-3070. If I remember correctly I paid $120 for it. Cosmetics were very good. The cartridge was a Stanton 500 something with a bent loose cantilever, and for some reason the owner had replaced the RCA plugs and not very well, so I had to replace them. Auto-return didn't work which I think is a common problem for these and a simple fix. With a new cartridge (AT95E) it sounds very good. Above photo shows an AT-311EP (P-mount to universal mount). I lived without the auto-return working until I figured out how to fix it. (I have a thread about the fix on vinylengine here - https://www.vinylengine.com/turntable_forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=69561 ). After getting everything addressed it runs very well, steady speed, sounds very good. There's a block of concrete like material in the plinth - for damping I assume?

The KD-3070 is better than the new AT-LP120 I had previously purchased. Since then I have acquired a Pioneer PL-530. Very similar sound to the KD-3070 to my ears, I just prefer the looks of the Pioneer PL-530.

I have been a kenwood table user for a very long time, here are some thumbnail pics of my warhorse. I really think kenwood put the user done table mod ideas of the 60s and 70s , into their production, when i opened my kd5066 up for the first time, and saw a heavy concrete block screwed to the plinth, from the factory? yes thats a factory mod ive never seen other brands do, I know guys that used to mount their technics in a concrete made outer plinth in the 70s. Kenwood took it to the next level , even on my mid level table. It has a million miles and slight speed vary, so i have it tore down for a total recap, i reset arm play, bypassed the micro switches from rca to cart directly, and removed all automatic function hardware, i love it, and have never missed it more than when i hooked up my spare table and started walking in the room , and the arm started bouncing all over the record, The kenwood never ever skipped and i thought that was how all tables were, nope, not even close.
