KLH Model 26 Twenty Six Speakers

I picked these up locally thinking I could give them to my daughter and haven't even hooked them up yet. I have some of the surround sealant and plan to treat them first. They appear to be in great condition. I haven't opened em up to see what caps they used but probably will and then recap soon. All depends on how they sound. I tired searching and not much info on these which is one reason I started the thread.

These were sold as part of a KLH speaker/turntable system. Looks to be similar in size to the Seventeen? Are those KLH Five's I see in the corner of picture?:)

I knew they were part of a kit but can't find much more info. Yes those are some Fives that I redid, just need the grills and badges but already have more money in them than I should. Haha. I need more room, not less speakers. Wow, I am surprised at how good these sound. Daughter may have to find her own. Really nice, smooth sounding speakers. Edit...closer listen reveals one mid/tweeter not working. I will check caps and see what I need. They seem to be worthy of recap.

I’ve been busy and forgot about these. I finally opened them up to reveal a 16uf and 8uf cap so I will get replacements ordered soon. I took a few pics mainly because I can’t find much information on these. I’ll organize and post up later.

I am sure they do.
I am just trying to find a cheap cap option as these aren’t worth investing too much money into. I’ll most likely have them in my sons bedroom for a decent small system.

How big is the woofer? They look to be about the same size as seventeens but without the fancier trim bezel. If so, they will be great speakers.

Somehow I missed this info guys.
I did get a few pics of original crossover and threw some replacement caps in them. They sound nice but I haven’t had a chance to listen to them at a higher volumes. It’s been late and everyone’s asleep but me. This weekend I should be able to test them out nicely.

Don’t laugh at the monster caps, it’s what i had on hand. GE 15uf and then 4 aerovox 2uf parallel for the 8uF.
I’ll post pics of them once I finish wiping them down and get them ready to go.

Here are a few now that they are done. I didn’t have to do much as they were in pretty nice shape. I just wiped em down with Howard’s.

Very nice! How did they sound with volume over the weekend, and how does your son like them!
Hope he appreciates them and the work you put into them.

Glenn, I’m not ignoring you. Wife had surgery on her foot so I have been busy. I’ll post an update once I do get a chance to check them out.

I was finally able to give them a listen this weekend. All I can say is wow. I really like them. I don't guess it is right for a father to take something back but they sound very nice, well worth the effort.
