KT-5300 Meter Light

Picked up a KT-5300 yesterday and the light in the meter appears dim. Is the lamp part of the meter or is it somewhere else? I don't see it anywhere and don't see it listed in the SM. Thanks

I've never worked on one so I could be mistaken, but since I only see two ~7V 300mA dial lamps in the schematic I'd guess the meter is lit in conjunction with the dial. From photos I can see one of the lamps at the left end of the dial and I'd assume the other was at the right end. Replacing those two lamps would probably do well to brighten the meter. If they used the globe type bulbs use a wedge base type, if they used a fuse type use the same 8V 250mA or 300mA replacement.

Thanks hopjohn. Yes, two dial lamps and the right one is out, left lamp works but it may be dim for all I know. I'll follow your recommendation and get some new lamps ordered, I assume dwojo could help me with this. Appreciate the response. .
