I hope this is the right place to give kudos to somebody who sells speaker foams. If not, then please accept my apologies, and I will delete this thread. Or maybe an administrator can move it where it needs to go?
I just wanted to give a shout out to Rick Cobb who has supplied me with replacement surrounds for several different speakers.
He supplied the foams for my Bose 901 restoration. His "kit" is designed for people who want to use the test tone method. Without getting into a huge debate, I've always preferred to use the shim method on the voice coils. This meant I needed more dust caps, as the kit only includes two spare dust caps to replace any dented ones. I contacted him, and he sent me 16 more dust caps and two spare surrounds for FREE!
I just recently bought two surrounds for a pair of AR18S that I'm refoaming (pictures coming soon), these fit just fine and the speakers are now singing again.
I also just bought some surrounds for a pair of Advent Legacy IIs, and decided to use the first class shipping (in an envelope) versus the Priority shipping (in a box) to save a paltry $3. The surrounds arrived somewhat misshapen, so I contacted Rick. His customer service is exemplary, he said if I sent him another $3 to go with the Priority box, he would send me two new surrounds.
If you need surrounds, I would shoot Rick a message at :
