L100 Restoration Done

Great work as usual Eric!! Very nice. The American Walnut almost looks blackish in areas, did you restain or just natural oiled finish? Did you alter the crossover to the Murphy version or OEM?

Thanks, Bart! I used Watco Danish Oil ("Walnut") on the stands and veneer, so it stained them a bit. After a fair amount of agonizing, I left the crossovers stock and just recapped them. (I figured that even if I put lipstick on pigs, I'd still be kissing pigs. Plus, I like some originality and being able to use the L pads.)

eBay seller sculpted foam innovations. Expensive and very slow, but also super well-made.

Thanks, you guys! Chubba, I had to look (I'm terrible with model numbers), but the amp is indeed an MA6600. Really nice. :D

Very Nice!!!!

What caps did you use and what changes did you notice after recapping?

I picked up a pair of L100s over 2 years ago and finally got around to listening to them. My first impressions are positive, but the L-pads seem iffy. Would like to recap if I have to go in.
