I picked up a shoty pair of large advents. I believe they are A3.
The switch that controls the Normal / Extended on the back seems to only power the tweeter in a certain position. If you jiggle it...it goes out and gets staticy etc.
Ive opened them up (they need foam anyway) and im wondering how you get the crossovers out? They are glued down pretty good with hot glue i believe.
WOuld a heat gun loosen that up so i could remove it to work on it?
Also.....i dont know if the switch is bad or not but it would appear to be either bad or dirty. Can these be cleaned up so i get response from all switch positions?
Im excited to get started on these units.
I am probably going to order my foam from PartsExpress and i would like to replace the caps and resistors at that time as well but im just not sure how to go about removing the crossovers so i get see what i need to order for replacments.
Let me know.
