AK member Barclay t. sent in a really nice Sansui AU-919 for a complete restoration and upgrade.
The restoration/upgrade included the following:
1. Replacement of all of the failure-prone "Black Flag" capacitors with C0G types.
2. Replacement of all of the small electrolytic capacitors with low ESR types (increasing capacity where appropriate and physically possible).
3. Replacement of all of the signal path electrolytic capacitors with either "audio grade"/bi-polar electrolytic types or film types (whenever possible).
4. Upgrade of the original polyester film capacitors to polypropylene film types (whenever possible and appropriate).
5. Replacement of output relays.
6. Replace any components damaged by the infamous corrosive board glue.
