    .

    Thanks.

Yeah, good eye. . A friend in high school thought his 6cyl, 3 speed Mustang was a race car.... hah. Those are chipped gears removed when he rebuilt his trans..... twice. I just tapped pairs together with a sledge hammer, glued some felt on the bottom, and....instant candle holders.... Can't believe I still have them after 47-48 years.

This one is from IKEA, part of the Stockholm line. Adjustable LED bulb although some intensities are unstable.

I've gotten many compliments on it.

    Look nice, is it heavy?

Yes, nice and dense. Generally a solid, quality piece, costing me 220 dirhim or about $60 USD. Better than the usual IKEA offering. Nice distribution of lumens too, up and down.

The dimmer remains an issue with my example. On partial intensity the light flickers in an annoying way. Once it heats up, it stabilizes. Max and Min intensities are stable right off.

Picked up one exactly like this at Goodwill today (photos lifted from Etsy listing):

It's an orange Heyco atomic age dual gooseneck bullet lamp. I had to look hard to find it, but the Heyco name is stamped in the small white plastic grommet around the cord opening in the base. Very heavy, and well made - like most everything made back then, before the days of planned obsolescence. The chrome plated goosenecks still shine like new, with no signs of corrosion. They still hold the lamps firmly in place, with no sagging.

Mine is missing one of the little 8-sided plastic on/off knobs - like the one shown in the far left of this photo:

The 8-sided plastic knob just screws on to the threaded brass shaft of the on/off rotary switch. Anyone know a source for a replacement?

I don't have mid century in the house, but I am a sucker for cool lamps. I couldn't pass this one up.

Love it. Is it a shade in a shade?

Yeah, shade in shade. The outside is woven cane. The inside glows soft warm yellow and is much better than the photo which exaggerates the brightness.

Mid century starburst lamp with the light up base. Used to be my granddad's the light in the base didn't work for years until I rewired it and put the proper switch in. Easily my favorite lamp.

Yeah it's just one of those ones you don't just throw away. Also ended up replacing the shade as the original was beat. Plus the old drum was honestly a little too tall as the majority of the stem was obscured.

At least 90 years old is this little lamp. Original wiring. I know - that is dangerous...

    Very cool!

You can buy modern twisted cloth covered wire. I have used on many lamp projects.

The photo is from a wagon wheel lamp I made.

Another 60's/70's fleamarket find. Two-tone glass with some subtle indentations at the base. It's signed, but I can't make out the signature.

I see I posted this lamp earlier in the thread, but since it's a better picture, I'll leave it.
Pretty nervewrecking to transport in our hand luggage!

I have not looked. Try looking at McMaster Carr and MSC. They are non specialty warehouses carry little of everything, if not familier with them. After you check the suppliers in AK suppliers thread, think it's in DIY. You might find something close, so you could buy two.

The Barcelona looks similar to a lava lamp warming up.

Not a table lamp, but dammit I needed to share it. I found this baby for free on the side of the road. The shade was even still in decent shape. Had to rewire it.
