Must be my lucky day. After viewing all the tuners here a hour ago I thought wouldn't it be nice to have one like gyushers on post #74.
Went to that site found one for sale BIN and a 1/4 mile from my house!
On my way to pick up that KT 8007 right now.

Oh man this sounds magnificient.
Smooth Kenwood sound....
More refined sounding but the Sony's clarity stills got me..

HOW about something from both camps

A Scott 312 a hybrid design using both Tubes and Solid state in a point to point chassis design. And it's a Broadcast tuner to boot! (used by radio stations to recieve their network signals.

Thanks I happen to have two of them this is the nicer preformer the other has the looks. When I get time I'll do up both of them best I can. Only thing I'm really missing cosmetically are the two tuner dial chrome caps. Since this Scott has a silver finish I have to have chrome or aluminum knob caps while all the others are gold/brass and easy to come by from the vintage guitar amp guys that used the same knobs.

And since the 312 and only a couple other Scotts used the same tuner knob an original would be very hard to find I have a deal in place to have 3 of them turned out of aluminum for me when I get ready.

when I have the time this tuner will become part of my living room tube system a Scott 233 amp and AKAI M8 tube amp and a vintage looking TT I am building from a Pro-Ject 1.2 it will end up looking very similar to a Thorens TD-121. with a longer straight arm I'm modifying a the Pro-Ject 8.6 aluminum arm into a 10.3" aluminum.

Should be fun if I can ever get it finished.

A Classic from the '60s

Long-admired, generally considered to tie with the Marantz 10B for top performance of the oldies, the Fisher FM-1000 is a beauty to behold.

Here's mine, all cleaned up and ready for the dance...
