About 1/2 of my amps would be fine left on indefinitely, the other half I would not be comfortable with, it comes down to how hot they run for me.
The Macs and Fairchilds run only luke warm after many hours use, the Scotts, Fishers,BT-H, and others would get pretty warm after about 3 hours, and I would worry.

I use small hi fi fans on a couple of my amps,,, The 811 amp in particular helps heat the room, specially with the circulating fan!!
