Lindas Story
I'm a mother of 4 and I'm so stressed out. My husband hasn't worked since he fell and hurt his back. We've been living off my income only which isn't much. Bills and rent are paid but I can not afford anything else. I would appreciate your help. I get sad worrying about gifts. I just want to see my children happy. Thank you so much.
I met Linda today and what struck me was her positive attitude about her life. And when she talked about her children she just lit up. Her children are her world and you could feel the love for her children but there was also that sadness when she talked about not having presents for her boys.
It was a lot of fun shopping with Linda she wanted to get her boys everything they wanted but understood that we had a budget. We walked around putting things in the cart, taking things out of the cart, making sure that she was fair making sure each one had the same amount as the other one. Her 6 year old loved to play chess so we found a box that had chess as well as other games. Race tracks, Action Figures, Cars, Hot Wheels, Rubiks cubes, bubble machine, The movie "Cars" cars, candy and lots of other things. It was really fun shopping for little boys.
Linda was extremely grateful for all the gifts and wanted me to say Thank You. As I always do, I told her about how the money was raised to adopt her family and she said that she is going to try to join AK so that she can personally Thank everyone for their generosity.
