i just picked up a linn basik tt in pretty good shape. the base (plinth) is black and has a little nick (ding, scratch...)on the front edge i would like to clean up. Is the finish on the plinth painted black or is it a black stain?, i can see grain so it is wood. i've filled the nick with wood filler and used a black marker to blend , but the marker color doesn't match the rest of the black.
