I have grumbled about the Linn remotes for some time. A short time ago, I installed a new Unidisk SC to replace and older non-HDMI model. The old remote was total crap but I had adapted to it. The new remote is the worst I have ever encountered. I should have known when the remote came with a separate manual! Linn claims it is easier to use!
I trotted off to my neighborhood hi-fi emporium and invested in a Genesis MX-900 from Universal remote. The technician in the store programmed it for me (It is complex to program) and it is so easy to use! I have four choices: 1) listen to a cd; 2) watch a dvd; 3) listen to radio; 4) watch television.
It was expensive: $400; but it works! Best $400 dollars I ever spent!
