LK140 issue when detecting a source signal

When my LK140 comes out of standby mode when a source signal is detected, it makes a somewhat loud pop on my speakers, even if the volume is turned all the way down. Does anyone know the reason for this? I assume this isn't normal. Could this also be damaging to my speakers?

You Linn guys are great! Thanks for your help! I'm good now, I just traded them in toward a Levinson amp.
