IMG_1692.JPG I have a vintage system that I have been assembling and have been using a dac hooked up to my iPod for music listening. I believe the dac is a brand name PURE. It was 100 dac a few years ago. I would like to get something different, but I don't know much about these dac things. Any help would be much appreciated. I would like to continue to use my iPod and maybe my iPhone (Bluetooth maybe??) thanks

Schiit has a line of well-regarded low-to-modestly-priced DACs that are made in USA according to the web site.

"I" would go with a true multi-bit DAC. Their Modi-2 Multibit is $250, although they also sell less-expensive and more-expensive models.

There are other companies selling competitive product. Schiit is what pops into my mind first. I have never owned or even heard Schiit products. I have considered Benchmark for my own use, but that's a higher price point.

I can't see buying Chinese crap when USA products are available.
