Ok, forget sound quality and specs for a change and let's be superficial. What is the best looking piece of vintage gear you have ever owned?

Of course choosing the "best looking" is a subjective excercise, but it should be fun to see the different tastes and whether there is a consensus on a certain model, brand or style.

I would say the Pioneer SX-1250 receiver that set the trend of changing from the back lit color tuning dial area to the all silver metallic appearance. The wrap around heat sinks project a powerful robust build quality which peaked with the SX __50 series.

Also a huge fan of Pioneer 50 series stuff.

For looks, I love KLH, Advent, AR speakers.

For tables, I love the really vintage stuff. Garrard 301, early Thorens, Empires, Rek-O-Kut...

    Good looking gear

Sx-1280 with black dials looks better than my SX-1050 IMHO

Pioneer 50 series. Marantz receivers. I also like the look of a lot of Realistic receivers. The STA 2000, 2100 series. The Sony STR-7025 receiver I like a lot. Hell, I think a lot of vintage receivers during the 70's look good.

You have to see it to believe it. Beautiful wood work, and the best looking Fisher tuner inside.

My favorite receiver is the STR-7065, I just love the green and orange indicators, angular knobs, and matte faceplate. My Philips GA 212, with the deep green touch sensitive controls is the perfect match. It just looks good, even against new gear.

I've seen many great looking Panasonic pieces with the circular dials.

    x2. Love the black dials.

So much vintage gear looks so good though. Lots of contemporary gear too (especially speakers).
