I like vintage stereos with lights, meters, and various colors. Marantz receivers probably catch my eye the most. Then there are the Sansui and Pioneer receivers. A lot of JC Penny(MCS), and Realistic receivers that look nice. I have a Philips AH 4871. Would look very appropriate in a gestapo office. 003.JPG

As the grandson of Holocaust survivors, I really hate to say this — the Gestapo had style.

Hugo Boss designed their uniforms. Adidas made their boots.

Sometimes if you want to do it right, you gotta build the yourself.

I recently picked up a pristine mid 70s Sears Audio By Fisher receiver for almost nothing, My opinion on Sanyo built Fisher stuff changed greatly after getting it. It is well built and sound great with around 50 wpc.

Well, if we're just talking about looks, how about a Fairchild 440 turntable with a Pritchard arm and a Scott Stereomaster 399 receiver:

I started to fancy stereo equipt when analog dials were in play, but started buying when it was turning to digital.
I love the Marantz look but also the high-tech, LED and busy digital displays look too.
Blue vacuum fluorescent displays never fail to catch my eye.
