I took two small steps forward today and picked up a 2230 to replace my 2220B. The 20 was my first Marantz receiver and I have been in love for over a year now but wanted just a touch more power. I sanded down and oiled both the case and the Imperial 6s as well. The shop I bought if from also had a 2245 for about the same price but it had a scratched faceplate and we have a small living room anyway.

I have it playing Boston on the Lab 400 and it works like a champ. Smooth and sweet just like the 2220B.

Oh and I love how the Stereo light has the Marantz star on it.......a cool little Easter Egg.

    Nicely done. Looks gorgeous.

Love the 22xx series dressed up in their wood. Enjoy.

It sounds as good as it looks! The ten or so more watts wakes up the Imperials a bit more. The synergy is just as good as it was with the 2220........which means it is surprb.
