Marantz 2270 Faceplate Screw Tap?

hello everyone, i'm almost done restoring a 2270 but i'm stuck, the previous owner damaged the threads where the faceplate screws go... i need to refresh those threads, does anyone knows the size of the screw tap i need to buy?? it would help alot, thanks!!

2.5mm diameter tap but not sure of the thread count.

If it's a 2.5mm, thread pitch will be 0.45mm and if it's a 3.0mm, pitch will be 0.5mm.

To be sure, measure the screw diameter and when you buy your tap, get the dude at the hardware store to use his thread pitch gauge.
