Marantz 2325 problem

About 2 months ago my Marantz 2325 Receiver stopped producing sound from the speakers and I am at a loss as to what maybe the problem. I live in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania and work in Manhattan. Is there a Marantz service specialist in between these two points to whom I could refer my problem ?

Likely, the protection relay is no longer firing. Sometimes this is due to a failure in the protection circuit. For example, on the Marantz 2270 there's a timing capacitor that opens up. Usually though, the cause is a failure in one of the power amps which is triggering the protector and refusing to fire the relay.

Another cause of no sound is a failure in the power supply going to the preamp section -- though this happens only rarely.

Funny you should mention that. I was offered a 2325 for $50 that had lights but no sound. When I looked at the unit in the rear I saw missing pre/main jumpers so thought I had a real steal. However on getting it home and trying jumpers there was still no sound and that is when I found out about the automatic jumper contacts inside the RCA jumper connectors. So I figured I had a serious problem but decided to check and measure fuses and found a low ampereage fuse blown on the power board and that fixed the problem. So maybe it's not as rare as one might consider.

Many thanks for the insight, will see if I can figure out what the problem is before I can take it to a technician.

If you recall when we spoke the other day, I asked if you hear the relay energizing. My first thought with an amplifier with a 'no output' condition.
