I was able to get my hands on a SM-7, ST-8, and SC-7 marantz esotec stack. The only reason I was able to get that stack was because I bought another SM-7 previously and was contacted by the seller of the former. I was comparing both amps and one of the SM-7s have the AC/DC coupling switch on the back panel. The other SM-7, however, does not have this switch.
As a caveat, the SM-7 WITH the AC/DC switch is in fair to good cosmetic shape and has DC Offset at:
LEFT: 2.6 mV
RIGHT: 222 mV (crazy high...I dunon why??)
The other one without the switch is in very excellent cosmetic shape and has DC Offset at:
LEFT: 2.4 mV
RIGHT: 27 mV
I don't need two SM-7s, and would most likely sell one. What should I keep and why? Why did Marantz produce some SM-7s without the AC/DC coupling switch and others without it? I'm leaning on keeping the SM-7 WITHOUT the AC/DC coupling switch.
I'll include some pics later tonight if possible. Any insight would be helpful.
Thanks again
