There's one locally(I've posted in D&S if you're interested in price) that I'm considering. It's in "excellent" condition, supposedly. I'm interested because I'm currently using a restored C24 preamp which I really like with a restored Harman Kardon Citation 22, 200 watts both 4 and 8 ohms, just like the 2200. It would be used to drive AR 3a's. My main reasons for considering the 2200 is that it's a Mac, so possibly synergy improvement with the C24, and it's input impedance is 100K ohm, potentially making it an easier load to drive then the 22k of the HK.
As far as I can tell, the 2200 is original. No restoration. So I assume there's risk there, and I don't have knowledge to fix if something goes wrong, nor do I want to start bringing it to somebody. I'm also concerned that I'm really not going to notice much, if any improvement in sound. But the impedance thing, plus that it's local, plus that it's Mac amp for crying out loud, has me contemplating. Assuming I can get it for a decent price, should I go for it?
