MC2255 Headphone Jack Glow

Good morning all,

Just picked up my first McIntosh gear after all these years. Got a MR80 / C32 / MC2255. Love it!!!

In my ongoing battle with the ocd monster, I noticed a bit of glow around the headphone jack coming from one of the bulbs (assuming it's the headphone bulb). In any case, is this an issue from a diffuser being misalligned, older paint, or inherent with some of the amps? Not horrible but throws off the McIntosh "vibe" while listening in the dark (again, I have a horrible ocd monster living inside of me).

Thanks in advance and loving my new system.

There are cardboard tubes that snuggle up to the back of the 1866 bulbs to control the light leakage from the back. If someone installed LEDs that I have seen the tubes need to be discarded, the LEDs won't fit or maybe one did not get replaced when someone replaced the bulbs.

Not worth the risk of pulling the glass in my opinion.... Just put a 1/4 to 1/8 inch headphone adaptor to block the hole.
